About

My linework exemplifies a Neo-Expressive rendering of the figure and asks the viewer to create order within chaos. Through fluid, continual lines, the viewer’s eyes begin in one place and must stick to the subject in order to actively create a whole figure. An initial suggestion of a figure and a lack of realism lure the viewer in, yet the unravelling human likeness creates pause and formation. The colors invited into the figures are the pours of emotional waves I become connected to after much focused time spent studying myself or a model, and transcribing her to a flat surface. My work is an invitation to find order within oneself and a rebellion to the guilt and conviction of the nude.
